The Tiree Music Festival is over for another year.
The festival site at Crossapol is more or less cleared.
The Big Top is down and it went off on the ferry this morning.
And the festival goers from the Mainland and other islands have gone home.
At the warm invitation of TMF the church on Tiree met on site on Sunday.
Thanks to the event organisers everything was in place on the day.
What’s more we were in a much bigger venue.
Over a 100 people met in the festival’s colourful ‘Community Tent’.
Tiree residents, festival goers and visitors all met together.
Each year the numbers attending grows and grows.
Around 10:00am the preparations began for us on site.
At 10:30am we were ready to welcome everyone with cakes and coffee..
There was no discrimination at all – tea and squash were also freely available.
At 11:00am Will Wright led off the morning.
With visitors in mind Will outlined what would be happening,
With drama, song and Bible readings we would look at the big questions.
What’s really important in life?
What is really motivates you?
How do you find satisfaction?
How do you find real joy?
The Bible song-writer says,
You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with you forever
There was an activity corner for the children.
Towards the end they showed us their handiwork.
And they gave everyone a souvenir to take away with them.
The small Tiree Stone was suitable inscribe with the word “Joy”!
All monies donated were going to Mainly Music in Lebanon.
The Church on Tiree was excited to be sharing in this work.
The group in Lebanon is standing alongside refugees.
On the Island there is a local Mainly Music Group.
Thankfully the sun was out.
There was time to stand around and chat.
We were able to leave the site saying it was good to be there.
“I pray that God, the source of hope,
will fill you completely with joy and peace
because you trust in him.”
