Sunday Gathering

As a consequence of the present situation facing the country the Church on Tiree is unable to gather together. We have put together OUR FIRST PODCAST and others will follow. The ink to our podcast is:  Sunday Podcast. The plan is to develop this ministry in the coming days and to have something available for those who would normally attend Sunday Club or similar.

In the podcast is a reference to the Getty’s new Easter hymn for 2020. It has a particular reference for these troubled times.  The hymn is called CHRIST OUR HOPE IN LIFE AND death and th link is:  Christ our Hope

Martin Hodson, General Director of the Baptist Union of Scotland writes,
Dear Friends
National Prayer Livestream – This Sunday at 7.00pmI urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. (1 Timothy 2.1-6)

If there was ever a time for praying together across the nation for all people this is it. Churches around the UK have designated this coming Sunday a day of prayer, calling on God in the midst of the fear, uncertainty and disruption caused by Coronavirus.

There will be a livestream National Prayer Gathering for Scottish Baptist Churches at 7.00pm on Sunday and I hope you and many others from your church will join in with this. The link for this is: Prayer Livestream

Jenny Wilson of the Baptist Union adds:
Regular Updates from BUS
During this unprecedented time, it is good to share resources and ideas together in order to help one another as we seek to be church in this unfamiliar environment we find ourselves in. We will be regularly updating our website with ideas and resources to help churches navigate this challenging period which also presents an opportunity for us to be innovative and creative too. You can find these resources on our website homepage here: Updates.,   Again, we do hope you can join us on Sunday evening as we corporately lift up our prayers to God. Blessings
Jenny

There is the suggestion that a candle be placed in your window at 7:00pm on Sunday. If doing so take care to do it safely. We do not want the fire brigade being called out.

Finally some people have found this daily resource app a great help: LECTIO365  – it is produce by 24/7 prayer and is available online for most mobile phones.
